Last week, researcher Kristen Rasmussen, a research associate with Cascadia Research Collective, was on island for a few weeks to study the humpback whale migration. During Rasmussen’s stay, her team, with the help of a few Islas Secas staffers, surveyed over 1,400 miles, saw more than 250 humpback whales, and collected photo-identifications for an estimated 80 whales.
