Tips and Rules PLEASE READ THOROUGHLY – VERY IMPORTANT 1. Sorry, no children under 10 years of age are permitted to visit Islas Secas. All guests stays are approved at the discretion of the management. 2. Meals are casual. All meals and drinks are included. Coffee is served starting at 7am. Breakfast is served from 8am until 10am. Lunch is served from noon until 2pm. Please let us know at breakfast if you would like a picnic lunch for any planned excursion. Dinner is server from 6pm until 8pm. 3. Always wear sunscreen and a hat. This is the tropics and nothing will ruin a trip faster than a nasty sun burn on your first day. 4. Las Secas are pristine. We need you help in keeping them that way. Please do not harm any plants or animals on the islands. There are no dangerous or poisonous animals known to live on any of the islands. They will not hurt you and it is their home first. 5. Everything electric at Las Secas is solar powered. This has many benefits: it uses no fossil fuels; makes no noise; and has no moving parts. The downside is that the solar panels can only produce so much electricity and the batteries have there limits too. We need your help in vigilantly keeping lights, fans and appliances turned off (mini-bar door closed) when they are not needed and when you are out. 6. Please leave a coconut on the stairs to your casita if you do not want to be disturbed. 7. Please do not leave trash anywhere other than trash cans. 8. Please do not stand under Coconut trees. They fall often and they can kill you. We do trim the trees regularly to reduce the risks but the Coconuts grow back very quickly. 9. Please do not smoke in any Casita or building on the islands. Smoking outside is fine. 10. The islands are of volcanic origin. The rich red volcanic soil that supports the lush vegetation can be very messy if tracked inside. Please make an effort to rinse or wipe your feet before entering buildings. 11. You are welcome to use the kayaks anytime you wish, but please do not attempt to operate any of the power boats. If you want to visit the other islands the resort staff will be happy to take you. 12. There is a very small gift shop in the Spa where you can buy
sunscreen, hats, Islas Secas shirts and tank tops, etc. |
