The Terraza is the heart of Islas Secas. It’s a place for you to share not only meals, but tales of your inspired adventures. You’ll delight in discovering sophisticated Panama cuisine while disconnecting from the concerns of the outside world.

Meals at Islas Secas are served à la carte at The Terraza which offers guests a laid-back, open air setting in which to enjoy sophisticated Panama cuisine. Whether it’s crispy fried whole snapper, seared octopus or ceviche, our menu offers flavorful dishes with a distinct local flare. Menus change weekly to offer the freshest ingredients including a “catch of the day” and seasonal produce.

As well as having à la carte hot meal options, our daily breakfast spread includes freshly made pastries and cakes, Greek yogurt and homemade granola and fruit platters with mouth-watering local papaya, mango, pineapple and kiwi.

Sunset BBQs, beach picnics and private meals at the casitas can all be arranged upon request.

Bar & Lounge

Adjacent to The Terraza is our welcoming Hemingway-style bar and lounge. With handcrafted panel interiors and colonial inspired displays of historic maps and local artwork, it’s the perfect spot to relax with a book, enjoy an aperitif or post dinner night cap.

A cozy games room ‘nook’ houses a small library, a variety of board games, chess tables and original archaeological artifacts from the region which will bring out the inner explorer in every guest, even the youngest adventurer.

Meet Chef Alex

The dishes prepared by our local Panamanian Chef Alex Hey Rojas are an exquisite mix, combining traditional Panama cuisine with Latino, European and Asian influences gained from his prior work experiences under the tutelage of Fabien Migny. He has travelled extensively, apprenticing at Restaurante Leo Cocina y Cava, Restaurante Toñi Vicente and Relaise de la Poste. Recently, Chef Alex participated in Panama’s version of “Top Chef.”

Meet Chef Katie

Chef Katie diverse experience allows her to make most of our menu options ‘in house,’ including breads, pastries, baked goods, desserts, ice cream, sorbets, cured hams, bacon, smoked fish, and pastas. She hails from Vancouver, Canada and helped start up various restaurants in the area before moving to Panama to work on a luxury liveaboard vessel and start her own catering business, in which she had the opportunity to cater an event for the President of the Republic of Panama prior to joining our team.
